Do Rolex Case Stickers Affect Watch Value?
Jul 20, 2021 Season 1 Episode 12
Roman Sharf

When it comes to Rolex watches, some people like to tend to them like they would a baby—with as much care as possible but what is considered overkill when it comes to maintaining a Rolex?

Let's discuss Rolex case back stickers. They're usually factory stickers that are placed on the watch but these stickers are not designed to actually stay on the watch. Why then is there such emphasis placed on them?

Do Rolex case back stickers affect watch value? And if so, how much? What would a watch collector say? You'll learn more on this today, on this episode of Q&A Tuesday.

Also on today's episode, we'll discuss the value of seeing a watch in person and how it affects perception. In addition, I'll talk about independent watch brands such as H. Moser and why the market values them differently.

Stay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:

⚙️ Do you think the way you communicate in your videos has set a new standard for the industry? Do you think you are a sort of pioneer?

⚙️ What are your thoughts about streaming platforms replacing TV? Would this in any way affect the watch world?

⚙️ What YouTube channel do you follow in the watch industry that inspires you?

⚙️ Are all of the changes to the JPS Rolex actually deliberate and not accidental?

⚙️ How to maintain the quality of the sticker on the back of a Rolex?

⚙️ Why is H. Moser & Cie. not that popular? In my opinion, they have the nicest dials. Do you see them becoming popular in the coming years?

⚙️ Where do you see the Rolex Sky-Dweller in the future? I've heard of Rolex swapping the dials from white to black or vice versa but never to blue. Has there been such a restriction with dials on other watches in the past?

⚙️ Are blue watch dials more popular and rare? Are there only restrictions on blue dials?

⚙️ If you are doing business with a stranger who has never been vouched for by anyone, are there certain precautionary steps you might take before doing business with them? For example, when buying for the first time, would you ever open a closed case back to inspect the movement, or bring a loupe or UV light to examine the dial, lumen, etc. Would there be any sellers who might take offense to this or not want to bother with it?
